LawnGuru is a mobile and web app that offers on-demand lawn care & snow removal. LawnGuru was created by two high school buddies who partnered after graduation from college. It’s largely a company of 20-somethings and our office environment reeks of enthusiasm powered by the desire to conquer uncharted territory. Collaboration looms large and we work as a team to continue to build this contemporary concept in lawn care and snow removal. The app was built around the needs of contemporary consumers and providers.
By introducing simple technology, LawnGuru has solved problems within the archaic and fractured outdoor service industry. This startup has revolutionized consumer behavior through convenience of delivery thereby boosting the economy by providing additional jobs to the many lawn care and snow removal companies in Michigan.
The platform is incredibly user-friendly. Consumers use simple mapping tools within the app to trace out areas of their lawn, driveway and walkways. The process takes just a few minutes and provides users with upfront pricing. Consumers are now ready to request service with the touch of a button where they will instantly be matched with the nearest provider to take care of their lawn or snow removal needs within hours.
The platform improves route density thus generating additional income for providers. Funds from all jobs completed by service providers will be deposited directly into their account improving cash flow. A dramatic difference to the traditional way of invoicing that takes place months after services have been rendered.
Establishing itself as one of Michigan’s most promising startups, LawnGuru was awarded “Best Consumer Product & Service” at the 2015 Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition – one of the largest international business competitions. LawnGuru has expanded from the initial 12 zip codes, to servicing over 200+ across Michigan in just 9 months.
