Lawrence Hunt, a “professional performance” clothing start-up from Detroit, now has it’s first full collection of breathable, sweat-wicking dress shirts available to ship.
Lawrence Hunt designed the first dress shirt to add sweat-wicking fabric technology into a traditional 100% cotton dress shirt. There is a patent pending over the design. It’s first beta dress shirt launched on Kickstarter at the end of 2014 and became one of the top 10 most funded dress shirts on Kickstarter , raising approximately $17,000 on the $15,000 goal. During 2015, the company redesigned its shirts based on the feedback from the Kickstarter backers, revamped its website using Royal-Oak based design firm, Octane Design, and added a women’s breathable dress shirt.
The first full men’s collection includes five different styles, all named after Detroit street names, such as the Woodward, Michigan, Brush, etc., as well as a white and black shirt. Currently, there is only a white and black shirt for women, but more are on the way. The first collection has been receiving great reviews. Steven Chang, an Accounting Manager from the Rehmann Group, said “80% of the shirts I own are Brooks Brothers, and they don’t have anything on these.” Jordan Zimmermann, starting Pitcher from the Detroit Tigers, is also a fan. He tweeted out the other day, “if you want to try the most breathable shirt you’ve ever worn check out @LHwear they are pretty amazing.”
